I Film My City Because It Raised Me

There are places you move through…
and places that move through you.
Jackson is the latter for me.
This city didn’t just give me streets to walk or skylines to frame—it gave me rhythm, resilience, and a way of seeing the world. It raised me in moments both loud and quiet. In wins and losses. In beauty you had to look twice to notice.
That’s why I film it.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because it’s honest.
I’ve filmed cities that shine on command. Jackson doesn’t do that. It makes you wait. It makes you listen. It teaches you that beauty isn’t always polished, sometimes it’s cracked sidewalks glowing at sunset, or strangers sharing space without sharing words.
When I point my camera downtown, I’m not chasing nostalgia. I’m honoring foundation.
The professionals walking into offices.
The students passing through, dreaming bigger than the block they’re standing on.
The everyday people who make this city breathe without ever being noticed.
This place taught me patience.
It taught me how to sit with moments.
It taught me that silence can still say something.
So when you see my work, understand this:
I’m not trying to convince you my city is special.
I’m showing you what happens when you love something long enough to see it clearly.
I film my city because it raised me.
And I’m still becoming because of it.
